A yali (?), a mythical animal with the body of a peacock and the head of a dragon. Gouache painting by an Indian artist.
A coiled, mythical creature with a dragon-like head and a spiraling body of ornate, feather-like scrolls in yellow, red, green and white fills the sheet. Its open-jawed head faces right on a long curving neck, painted in gouache on paper with a soft, aged tone.
