Archangel Gabriel; The Virgin Annunciate
Two painted panels show the angel Gabriel kneeling at left, one hand raised and holding a lily-stem, and the Virgin at right with hands crossed over her chest beneath a dove. Both figures wear pale, heavily folded robes against dark arched niches. The smooth, luminous oil technique on wood gives the figures a sculptural quality.
