An 18th-century mezzotint caricature shows a dancing lesson in a sunlit room: a fashionable gentleman in a coat bows while another holds his hand, a violinist plays at left, and dogs lie on the floor. Figures in tailored dress and a framed portrait on the wall fill the composition in dark, detailed tones.
