Una lámina grabada y coloreada a mano de la historia natural de Carolina, Florida y las Bahamas de Mark Catesby muestra dos aves cantoras entre hojas anchas verdes y largas vainas de semillas. Un ave de color verde oliva amarillento se posa con flores blancas a la izquierda, mientras que un ave de tono castaño rosado y cabeza oscura se sitúa abajo, sobre las vainas, con un fondo claro y liso.
