Un boceto en tinta parda a pluma con aguada marrón muestra a un bebé robusto tendido en diagonal sobre la hoja, forcejeando con una serpiente enroscada en la parte inferior izquierda. El trazado de sombreado modela el cuerpo, y el papel tenue presenta manchas leves.
