A Battle on the Banks of a River

A crowded battle scene fills the lower two-thirds of the sheet, with soldiers in close combat, raised shields, and lances against a pale sky. Mounted riders and figures on a hillside appear at upper right, rendered in fine ink lines with touches of gold and faded color.
