A Newly Cut Print: Scenes from the First Part of Outlaws of the Marsh
A multi-panel polychrome woodblock print framed by decorative scroll borders. A large central panel shows mounted warriors with bows and spears in a melee, while smaller panels show figures in domestic, tavern and street scenes, with bold red, blue and green colors on cream paper.
Look closer: Small Chinese inscriptions in the panels name the episodes, and a red seal-like mark sits at the upper left corner.
