A phoenix and two cranes under a tree

A hanging scroll of ink and color on brown silk shows a crested, long-tailed phoenix-like bird perched on a rock beneath leafy branches, with two white cranes below and beside it. The standing crane at lower left turns its head toward the rock, while a smaller bird sits in the upper branches.
