Japanese painting on gold ground: a seated musician plays a stringed instrument, a woman in red kimono stands at center, and attendants and a kneeling figure fill the scene.

A Picnic Party

Five figures in colorful robes within a gold-ground frame: a seated musician plays a stringed instrument at upper left, while a standing woman in a red patterned kimono extends one arm at center. Two standing attendants at right and a kneeling figure in dark robes at lower left complete the scene against a gold-brown ground.
