A Prunus in the Moonlight
A Prunus in the Moonlight, attributed to Wang Mian, shows a twisting plum branch in bloom against a pale moon on silk. Ink washes model the dark, gnarled trunk while fine brushstrokes render the pale blossoms and thin outstretched twigs, with a column of inscription at left.
Look closer: A red seal is stamped near the lower left edge of the silk.
