A yujo reading

A hanging scroll painting in color on paper shows a woman in a red-lined robe and patterned kimono seated by a latticed window, reading an open document. Her figure fills the lower right of a narrow pale panel, mounted within blue-green brocade borders, with a small red seal near the bottom.
