A seated ruler in a flowered robe occupies the center of a richly paneled hall, with attendants standing and kneeling beside him. Armored figures and officials fill the lower corners, and a fine brush outlines every figure, drapery and architectural detail in ink on a tan ground.
Look closer: A small tray with offerings sits on a table at the upper left edge of the hall.
