Album of Daoist and Buddhist Themes: Search the Mountain: Leaf 49
A monochrome ink drawing on tan paper shows armored warriors and a long, scaled dragon locked in combat amid swirling clouds and churning waves. A spear slants diagonally across the left side, while a figure on the right grips the dragon's tail. The fine, economical line suggests the energy of a Song-period album leaf.
Look closer: A small seal-like mark in white near the upper right corner, and a tiny figure peering from behind the dragon's head.
