Magician Raising Spirits from a Distillery Tub, 1808

A robed, bearded magician in a long gown raises his arm beside a large distillation tub, from which a burst of light and small figures rise. Startled men recoil at right, a ram lies in the foreground, and a seated man reads at left in this black-and-white engraved aquatint.
