Avenue of the Allies (5th Avenue)

This etching shows a narrow city street lined with tall buildings, their facades draped with many hanging flags and banners that sway above a crowd of small figures at street level. Fine cross-hatched lines and open white areas give the scene a light, shimmering quality, with the street receding toward a distant vanishing point at center.
