Faded sepia plate of a long barge with rows of seated figures on a river, with roofed structures behind and a dark band across the top.

Royal barge procession on the river, Bangkok, Siam, 1865

A faded sepia photographic plate shows a long, low vessel with rows of crew or passengers seated along its side, beside a water line, with roofed pavilions and canopies rising behind them. The top third is dark, and scratches, haze and edge damage soften the scene. Recorded by John Thomson as a royal barge procession at Bangkok in 1865.
