Battle surcoat (jinbaori)
A sleeveless battle surcoat, or jinbaori, hangs on a horizontal rod, its dense black fur covering the body. Red leather panels edge the sleeves and are stamped with gold circular crests, and a large gold roundel with a three-leaf motif sits on the back.
Look closer: A small metal fastening ornament sits at the lower center of the surcoat.
