Beer straw, Ganda, late 19th century

A long, slender curved straw lies diagonally against a black background, its pale reed body wrapped with bands of tan plant fiber along the lower length. The upper end tapers to a small dark metal fitting and a narrow tip, while the lower end is finished with a neat knob.
