Bird on Pomegranate

A small songbird with olive-green plumage and a dark blue-black tail hangs head-down among flowering branches of yellow blooms, white blossoms and pale green leaves. The multicolor woodblock print is hand-colored on paper, with a brief ink poem in the upper right corner.

Look closer: A column of Chinese calligraphy in black ink, with a poem and a small signature seal beside it.
