Birds Gather under the Spring Willow
A hanging scroll shows peacocks, pheasants and small songbirds gathered among peonies, rocks and a gnarled tree with blossoms and drooping willow branches. Painted in ink and color on silk, the composition moves from the lower left peacock up through the flowers toward the birds perched in the canopy.
Look closer: A small bird with a red-tinged head sits among the blossoms on the right branch.
