Bonbon Couverts: Sheet of Hand-Colored Birds
Eighteen hand-colored bird illustrations sit in framed boxes across three rows on a cream sheet, each labeled in German beneath, among them a lark, a pheasant, an owl, a rooster, a falcon and a macaw. The small engravings show birds perched on twigs or ground in soft, naturalistic colors, arranged like a printed catalogue plate.
