Horizontal bands of bright yellow and brown-ochre run down the sheet, each marked with fine parallel rules and small rectangular motifs spaced along the stripes. The block-printed pattern on handmade paper repeats evenly across the sheet, consistent with a wall-covering border design from the early nineteenth century.
