Bowl with Decoration of the "Three Friends"

A deep porcelain bowl with a small foot ring, painted in underglaze blue. Bamboo leaves and branches spread across the body, with plum blossoms on a separate branch at right, and a band of waves decorates the foot. The pine, bamboo and plum here form the traditional Three Friends motif.

Look closer: A wave band with crests and swirls encircles the foot of the bowl.
