Box in Form of Lotus Leaf
A carved ivory dish in the shape of a lobed oval, its interior filled with relief carvings of lotus leaves, blossoms, stalks and seed pods. The leaves curl at their edges and show fine veining, and the lowest rim is decorated with a band of low ornament.
Look closer: A small carved seed pod and a lotus bud sit near the left edge of the dish, partly hidden in the shadowed cavity.
