Patched silk brocade kesa, Buddhist monk's robe, Japan
A rectangular textile made of many small patches of green and tan silk brocade, joined in a grid. Faint floral and scrolling motifs in gold-toned and blue threads are visible across the surface, with worn areas and uneven color from age.
