Bronze as of Nero
A dark green bronze coin shows a profile head of a young man facing right, with hair set in neat curls and a bare neck. Raised Latin capitals run around the left rim, and the worn surface suggests a coin long buried or handled. The record's identification of a Nero bronze is consistent with the legend and portrait.
Look closer: The lettering along the left rim is part of the legend naming the emperor, easy to overlook at this size.
