Brush Holder with Figures in Landscape and Poetic Inscription by Wang
A cylindrical bamboo brush holder carved in relief with a pavilion, pine trees and rocky crags, and a long vertical panel of calligraphic inscription cut into the surface. The warm brown bamboo shows fine tooled detail and a restrained, scholarly landscape composition.
Look closer: A small pavilion is tucked among the rocks on the left side of the carving.
