Bust of Roman Emperor

A carved stone bust of a bearded man with short curls, his head turned upward and to one side, set within a circular recessed frame. A folded drapery covers his shoulders, and the relief is worked with deep shadows and smooth modeling.

Look closer: Fine incised ring lines run around the inner edge of the roundel behind the head.
