Car across the Street, Arthur Dove, 1940

A watercolor and ink drawing in greens, black and muted yellow shows a dark, boxy form resembling a car at center, framed by loose abstract foliage. Heavy black contour lines outline mottled washes of olive and sage, with a dark tree mass at right and a small purple blossom at upper right.
