Carved Lacquer Scroll Box
A long rectangular box of red carved lacquer, its lid and sides densely cut with coiling dragons among clouds and rows of stylized waves along the base. Carved relief shows the lacquer layers with a glossy finish, and the box has a flat top with a narrow recessed panel.
Look closer: A narrow recessed panel runs along the top of the lid, with a faint striped pattern visible within it.
