Green-glazed ceramic ewer with a looping handle and a bird-head spout shaped like a rooster, against a gray backdrop.

Chicken-Headed Ewer

A green-glazed stoneware ewer with a tall looping handle, flared mouth, and a spout modeled as a bird's head with a crest and round eye. The body bears incised lotus-like petals and a small applied relief. The glaze shows fine crackle and pooling.

Look closer: A small applied knob or lump sits on the lower left of the body, near the base.
