Cittern
A pear-shaped plucked instrument with a long fretted neck inlaid with ivory scrollwork and a tuning head of pegs. The warm reddish body carries an ornate rosette and two small round sound holes, set against a dark background.
Look closer: Ornate ivory inlay runs along the side of the body, partly hidden in shadow.
