Column Capital
A weathered grey sandstone column capital, carved in relief with tall, pointed leaves that rise from a row of arched, scale-like forms along its lower edge. A central leaf with a dense, ribbed pattern rises upward between the flanking forms, set on a plain pedestal.
Look closer: The small arched niches at the base of the capital repeat in a row, giving a rhythmic pattern near the bottom edge.
