Gold medal showing a laureate bust in profile facing right, with long curled hair and armour, inscribed with the emperor's.

Coronation of Charles VI as Holy Roman Emperor at Frankfurt

A round gold medal in high relief shows a bust in profile facing right. The sitter wears long curled wig hair, a cuirass, and an ornamented cloak clasp. Lettering runs around the rim, reading CAROL VI D G ROM IMP S A G H HARB R A, set against a smooth field.

Look closer: The lettering around the rim carries the emperor's titles and is easy to overlook beside the portrait.
