Covered Jar

A covered jar of Chinese wucai porcelain, decorated in underglaze blue with red, green and yellow enamels. Panels show seated and standing robed figures among flowering branches, cloud-collar bands and stylized rockwork, with a lotus-petal border at the base and a flame-shaped finial on the lid.

Look closer: The lid's knob is shaped like a flame, easily overlooked against the dark background.
