Gilded copper figure of the crucified Christ, arms outstretched, head bowed, loincloth draped at the hips, on a plain.

Crucified Christ

A gilded copper-alloy corpus of Christ on the cross, arms extended horizontally and head inclined, with a draped loincloth knotted at the hip. Ribs and musculature are incised in fine linear detail, and two holes at the hands and feet show where it was fixed to a cross.

Look closer: Two small holes in the hands and feet where the figure was attached to a cross.
