Chalk and graphite drawing of a sprawled soldier in uniform lying on the ground, over faint grid lines on gray-green paper.

Dead Soldier

A chalk and graphite study shows a soldier lying sprawled on the ground, arms flung outward and legs extended, wearing a military coat, belt and cap. Faint squared grid lines run across the gray-green paper, marking a transfer grid, while the figure's dark shading and loose, sketchy strokes give the body weight against the pale ground.
