Design for a Dish with Portraits of the Roman Emperors Caesar, Claudiu
A circular engraved design with three laurel-wreathed imperial portraits in profile, one at top and two at left and right, around a central Latin motto. Ornate grotesque scrolls and small figures fill the dark ground between the medallions, and the artist's signature appears at the bottom.
Look closer: The engraver's signature 'THEO DE BRY FE ET EX' runs along the bottom edge.
