Pen and wash drawing of a standing draped woman holding a balance scale, a design for a statue of Justice.

Design for a Statue of Justice with Sketches at Left and Above

A standing, draped female figure holds a balance scale aloft in her right hand, her head turned slightly to the left beneath a fillet of cloth. Heavy, flowing drapery wraps her body and falls to a plinth at the bottom. Brown ink and gray wash model the folds, and faint sketches appear at the upper edge and at left.

Look closer: A small sketch of a figure's head appears at the top edge, near the upper center.
