Drawing of Sasanian rock relief: Shapur I (r. A.D. 241-272) and Roman
A pen-and-ink line drawing shows a crowned, bearded rider on a horse at center right, facing a second mounted figure in a patterned cap at upper left. A kneeling figure in long robes lies at lower left, one hand raised toward the horse. The horse's bridle and saddle are finely detailed, and the figure at right edge looks on. The plain paper ground and clean linework suggest a copy of carved relief.
Look closer: A small figure peeks in at the far right edge, partly cut by the frame.
