Early Ferns, Chapter 48 of The Tale of Genji

A hanging scroll shows two women in layered robes on a wooden veranda beside a blossoming cherry tree, one kneeling near the edge while another peers from behind a curtain. Ink and color on silk gives soft, muted tones, with a small green shrub at lower right.
