Erato, Plate Fourteen from Apollo and the Muses
An engraving showing a robed female figure in profile, holding a large sphere before her and turning toward it. Her long hair is loosely gathered, and drapery falls in fine parallel lines around her legs. A small sphere rests on the ground beside her, with a hilly landscape and a border of twisted rope beyond, and the inscription ERATO XIIII at the base.
