Evening Glow at Jungai (Jungai sekishō), from the series Eight Views o
A wooded rocky islet rises from pale, calm water, its crest crowned with dark-roofed buildings and its slopes dense with pines. Two small sailboats drift near the left shore, while a shrine gate and blue-roofed houses sit along the right bank under a soft, rosy sky.
Look closer: A small torii gate stands at the water's edge on the right, beside a red-tinged shore.
