Foot-Soldier with a Spear and Hawk-Handler (Yari-mochi yakko to taka s

A bald, red-faced foot-soldier in a dark patterned jacket strides at left, a spear raised behind him, while an elegant figure in a long patterned robe holds a hawk on the wrist at right. Bold black ink outlines and flat color define the figures against a plain paper ground.

Look closer: A small hawk perched on the figure's wrist at the upper right, with its hooded head visible.
