Frederick III (1413-1493), Holy Roman Emperor (1452)

A cast bronze medal showing a man in profile facing left, wearing a flat-brimmed cap and a fur-collared garment. Latin lettering runs around the rim, with a small hole at the top edge. The low relief gives the portrait a crisp, sculptural outline against a dark patina.

Look closer: A small hole pierces the rim at the top, likely for suspension.
