Funerary Urn (Hunping)

A green-glazed stoneware jar with a tiered tower-shaped lid, its upper stages set with seated and standing figures in arched niches beneath pagoda-style roofs. Molded animals, figures and mask-like motifs ring the shoulder above the banded body.

Look closer: A small animal in relief sits on the shoulder of the jar beside a lion-like mask.
