German Prisoner Type, Head of a Man in a Cap

A pencil and color drawing on a pale ground shows the head and shoulders of a man in a worn cap with a green band. He has a heavy yellow-brown mustache, a flushed face, and a sidelong, weary gaze. The loose, sketchy lines and soft washes suggest a quick study made from life.
