Gold aurei of the Twelve Caesars
Twelve gold Roman coins, set in two rows of six, each carved with a male portrait in profile and framed by a raised rim. Small rectangular purple gemstones separate the discs, and the piece sits on a plain gray ground.
Look closer: A small hinge loop at the left end of each row, used to attach the piece.
