Ink and wash drawing of a standing general addressing seated senators in a columned hall; coins spill on the steps.

Hannibal Before the Senate in Carthage

A standing general in a short tunic gestures toward a raised platform where robed elders sit in tiered rows beneath a tall column. In the foreground, men kneel among scattered coins on the marble steps, while armored soldiers stand at the left edge. The grey wash and white highlights give the classical hall a dramatic, theatrical depth.

Look closer: A signature or inscription is faintly written in the lower left corner on the step.
