Head of a Bodhisattva
A carved wooden head of a bodhisattva rises from a rough, splintered neck. The serene face has half-closed eyes, a small urna on the brow, and a gently closed mouth, framed by looped hair and a tall, openwork crown of foliate scrolls. The weathered, cracked surface shows the wood's grain and age.
Look closer: A small round urna (dot) is carved at the center of the brow between the eyebrows.
